1 1/8 cups All-Purpose Flour

1/2 tsp Baking Powder

1 1/4 tsp Ground Cinnamon

1/2 tsp Ground Ginger

1/4 tsp Allspice

1/8 tsp Ground Cloves

1 cup Packed Light-Brown Sugar
-
¼ cup + 2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil

1/2 cup Unsweetened Applesauce
-
2 Large Eggs
-
1 tsp Vanilla Extract

1/2 cup Buttermilk
-
8 oz Cream Cheese
-
1/4 cup Unsalted Butter, nearly at room temperature

1 3/4 cups Powdered Sugar

1/4 tsp Vanilla Extract
Cream Cheese Frosting
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray Mini Loaf Baking Pan with non-stick baking spray.
In a mixing bowl whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, allspice and cloves. Set aside.
- Pour brown sugar in separate mixing bowl. Add vegetable oil and applesauce. Mix well.
- Mix in eggs and vanilla.
- Add in 1/2 of the flour mixture and mix on low speed until combined, then blend in buttermilk, then add remaining 1/2 of the flour mixture and mix until well combined.
Pour into baking pan. Bake in oven until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean, about 30-35 minutes.
- Cool completely.
- For the frosting: cream butter and cream cheese until smooth.
- Mix in powdered sugar and vanilla and mix until blended.
- Frost cooled cake with cream cheese frosting.
